Have you been wanting to bowl, but just can’t make the time commitment to go every week? SBL might have the answer for you. Every year, we look to recruit interested bowlers who really want to bowl, but simply don’t have the time.
What are the benefits to being a substitute?
The biggest advantage to being a sub is that you don’t have to pay the entire $25 when you bowl! That’s right - you only pay $15 to bowl every time you come to a league night.
**Interested bowlers must be sanctioned with USBC in order to bowl. This is a one-time fee of $21 payable to NYC-USBC Association**
How will I know you need me to sub?
We add your name to our sub list. A regular bowler lets us know s/he will not be able to make it and is interested in having a sub bowl in his/her place. Our secretary will reach out to all subs via email and try to secure one for the week(s) needed. We require a 24 hour notice from our bowlers for substitutes, so you won’t be caught off-guard.
How do I sign up to be a sub for SBL?
That is the easy part! Simply contact our League Secretary, and he will get back to you with all of the information you will need in order to start subbing.
